Quality of Life Indicators Project

BPP members strongly believe in the power of leadership and advocacy for advancing the well being of border communities.  Institutions that are strong and effective advocates for local issues are a pre-condition for effective advocacy for the entirety of the region.   Throught the Quality of Life Indicators Project the BPP is currently developing a variety of products to support members in developing institutional and individual leadership in their communities.

Good leadership is based on good decisions and good decisions are based on good data.  We launched the Quality of Life Indicators Project, recognizing the scarcity of comprehensive data, particularly bi-national data, that otherwise could be utilized to tell the border’s real story and advocate for its actual needs.  The project collects, synthesizes, interprets and presents data as a tool for better understanding the current and future trends in the region’s quality of life as a whole.

The lead researcher on the project is Prof. Kimberly Collins California State University- San Bernardino. Related to this project the BPP has created and made available to its membership
