BPP MEMBER THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY FOUNDATION INITIATES CAMPAIGN WITH PARTNERS TO AID FLOOD VICTIMS IN TABASCO

In an effort to respond to the needs of more than 800,000 displaced victims of the recent flooding in the Mexican state of Tabasco, BPP member the International Community Foundation (ICF) in collaboration with Azteca America and Fundacion Azteca has initiated a campaign to raise money through the foundation’s International Water Emergency Relief Fund which provides immediate relief to communities and victims of natural disasters in need of safe drinking water and health and sanitation systems in Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. Funds raised will provide safe drinking water and direct aid to reduce the spread of cholera and other waterborne diseases

All donations made to ICF's International Water Emergency Relief Fund will go to benefit the Mexican Red Cross delegation in Tabasco and Caritas, A.C to assist with immediate relief. Subsequent support will be directed to other local/regional organizations involved in the reconstruction efforts of the areas affected.

Without question, the Tabasco flood is the worst natural disaster in Mexico’s recent history with its long term community based impacts paralleling the 1985 Mexican earthquake. In so many ways, the floods of Tabasco have become Mexico's Katrina. So, ICF encourages donors to give generously to those in critical need of assistance.
