Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Local Funding Partnerships (LFP)invites you to review our new special solicitation, Peaceful Pathways: Reducing Exposure to Violence.The program offers matching grants of $50,000-$200,000 per project.
Proposals for this solicitation may be submitted at any time throughout 2009. Submitted proposals will be processed for review on the following dates, May 1, 2009; September 1, 2009; and January 5, 2010
- To be eligible, a project must be nominated by a diversity focused funder whose grantmaking targets an underserved group such as communities of color; immigrants; people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender; or people who are isolated because of their race, tribe, ethnic group, gender or rural/frontier location.
- Proposals must demonstrate how the new project is culturally appropriate, leveraging the community’s own characteristic wisdom, skills, language and cultural resources to reduce violence in that community.
- Eligible projects related to violence could reflect a community’s priorities by focusing on interpersonal or public violence, on the behavior of intimate partners or of gangs, on the trauma of war or on abuse in the workplace.
