giveBIG to the Border!

News from BPP Site Administrator | December 11, 2011

We are inviting you to giveBig to the Border!

BPP supports a binational community of civic leaders who collaborate strategically on issues affecting both sides of the border. Our program strengthens their ability to reach more vulnerable families and be more effective in their work. The BPP is able to do this work only with the support of people like you; who know our mission is indispensible and want to act. Thank you for making a tax-deductible gift to the BPP today!

This year, we are pleased to participate in giveBig, an online giving event sponsored by The San Diego Foundation. giveBig is designed to expand and increase giving to local nonprofits that provide vital community services.

giveBIG launches at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 14
and ends at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15

All gifts received will be matched on a pro-rated basis. To receive the match, gifts must be received through the giveBig website.

Fill out the secure form below to make your matched donation, or visit BPP's giveBIG page on the event site.

Throughout the event we will keep you updated on our progress with posts to our Facebook page; where we will also be sharing our favorite quotes, poems, songs, facts and figures about the border during the 36-hour event. Join us on Facebook to follow along at facebook.com/USMBPP

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!

Despite the negative images of the region that so often pervade media and mindsets, our members, from across and along the border, know very well the beauty and promise of this region. That is why they work tirelessly to increase opportunity and improve quality of life for border communities

We are very proud of what BPP has accomplished this year in supporting this community of civic leaders and institutions including:

  • Engaging hundreds of professionals and practitioners in over thirty BPP workshops from our first capacity building program calendar
  • Consolidating a targeted program for organizations that help low-income families out of poverty and achieve financial stability
  • Educating leading national and international institutions including: the Clinton Global Initiative; the U.S.-Mexico Border Health Commission; the White House Rural Council; and the Border Legislators Conference, on the work and achievements of border-serving organizations
Some of the exciting developments we are looking forward to in 2012 include:
  • A border-wide summit with policymakers, civic and corporate leaders to address the most pressing issues facing the border
  • Enhanced curriculum for organizations focusing on governance, resource mobilization, communications, program evaluation and innovation
  • Expanded services in our Family Asset Building program
  • The launch of an exciting collaboration that will capture and analyze data on philanthropic investments in the border and throughout Mexico

“The presentations were excellent. I am very impressed with what has been achieved in other states and that the ‘fruits’ have transcended both sides of the border. This inspires us to continue working.”
